But I loved her book! I spent many hours taking notes on the wonderful visualizations and relaxing techniques to try. I really appreciated the chapters on preparing for labor by spending time each day relaxing and practicing the visualizations. I also enjoyed the chapters discussing the adjustment period post-birth.

I thought this was a wonderful book that covered everything from preparing for pregnancy through each trimester to the delivery and first few months of the baby's life.

Without a rehearsal in the environment that you want to give birth in today's society is one that says you can have all of these options whilst not getting chance to actually have these options when the real unrehearsed performance begins.   7. I felt very much like Spatafora was trying to sell her birth class, and the book is about her birth philosophy, so that's not too surprising and maybe not out of place, but it seemed awkward at points. Overall, it's about being educated and well and in a peaceful, confident mental place.

Because the risks of not only water immersion, but also home-based labor and delivery, are involved, this process should be discussed in detail with your obstetrician or midwife so that you can be informed of all your options.
